Service Advisor/Manager
Summary:
Service Manager is responsible for the customer focused and efficient operation
of the service department. The Service Manager will operate the department at maximum
production, controlling costs, building a loyal client base, maintaining
excellent employee relationships as well as setting and obtaining objectives.
Duties:
• Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
• Help identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or doing a
visual inspection or road test.
• Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective
procedures, and prepare work order for needed repairs.
• Prepare a repair order showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
• Write a brief description of the problem on the repair order to help the
mechanic locate the problem.
• Explain the work performed and the charges to the customer.
Requirements:
• Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their
designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Engineering and Technology – Knowledge of the practical
application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles,
techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various
goods and services.
• Problem Sensitivity – The ability to tell when something is
wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing
there is a problem.
• Number Facility – The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or
divide quickly and correctly.
